KAYLA MEMBERSHIP
Building Blocks of Youth Led Programming
Members
General members play an active role in shaping KAYLA’s programs. Each year, members vote on which youth-led projects will receive funding.

Members are invited to attend any of the youth-led events held throughout the year, offering chances to learn, connect, and grow.

Scholarships are available annually for members who attend 15 or more events, recognizing consistent engagement and commitment to the community.

Fellows
The KAYLA Fellowship is designed to develop leadership, professional skills, and a commitment to public service and academic excellence.

-
Applications open in January
-
Final selections announced in April
-
Fellows meet with mentors bi-weekly from May to July for committee development and project planning.
Upon successful completion of the one-year fellowship, participants receive a $500 stipend and may request a letter of recommendation recognizing their service and leadership.

Mentors
KAYLA mentors are dedicated volunteers who embody our four core values: Courage, Social Responsibility, Stewardship, and Scholarship.
They serve as trusted guides, offering oversight and strategic advice to support each youth-led project. Mentors help fellows navigate leadership challenges, set realistic goals, and ensure that programs stay on track and mission-aligned.

In addition, mentors act as a bridge between youth fellows and KAYLA staff. Mentors facilitate communication, share resources, and help move each project forward.

Mentorship at KAYLA is a partnership. Together, we’re cultivating a culture of learning, collaboration, and impact.
